Starts 13th October
Club Census starts 13th October – 2nd November: Round 3
We are now ready to undertake the next phase of our census data capture. This will give us a like for like comparison with Round 1 and 2 findings.
The process and timings for the Autumn 2014 playing census are as follows. There are also some important points of clarification so please take a moment to read these.
Autumn census process
The process for the Autumn census will largely follow that undertaken in Rounds 1 and 2 but with a few refinements that will help us capture more consistent and accurate data. The survey will be available to complete online, and also via downloading the Survey Monkey app, which will allow you to complete the census at the club.
Clubs choose ONE of three weeks between w/c 13th October through to w/c 27th October, ensuring where possible, that a weekend is chosen where league fixtures are planned
Survey send out will be done centrally, the distribution list we are using is taken from the GMS system.
Additional questions around refereeing have been inputted for Round 3:
How many active referees are there in your club?
How many games have they refereed in the last month for your club?
How many of these active referees are also referee society members?
Timings
The audit period is between Monday 13th October and Sunday 2nd November
The survey will be emailed to all clubs on the Friday 17th October
The survey closes on Monday 10th November
Important points of clarification
To ensure consistency across all responses we need to make it clear that:
For the question How many players currently in membership of your club? We are looking to find out the total number of players that could be called on to play for any team from the first team downwards over the course of the season, not just the week in which we are asking for.
For the question focused on the number of players that trained this week, we are looking for the number of unique players that trained that week, not the cumulative number.
For non-voting clubs it is proposed that a slightly different set of questions is asked. These should be more generic to avoid “no information” if they don’t have a game in the chosen week.
How many total players are available to play one or more matches in your club this season?
How many planned matches does your club have this season?
How often do you train during the season and on average how many players attend?
How many matches have you played so far this season?
Should clubs have difficulty in completing the survey online then the RDOs will be able to support them to complete the process
