Colchester hosted their annual, Eastern Counties supported Festival on Sunday, with 14 sides from around the CB taking part.
Each team was allocated into 2 pools, a “trophy” pool, and a “development” pool, enabling all clubs to play at their own standard.
After 4 x 12 minute one way games, there were semi-finals, and finals for all.
The format worked, with virtually all games being even and competitive.
An outstanding North Walsham defeated Colchester to win the John Motum salver in the “main final”
Bury & Ipswich drew in the Plate
Diss beat Braintree for the Shield
Ipswich YM defeated Cambridge to win the Goblet
Newmarket beat Woodbridge for the Bowl
Hadleigh beat Mersea Island for the Spoon
And Colchester B beat Sudbury to claim the Thimble
3 of the 7 referees were teenagers, and 15 year old Max Taylor of the Suffolk Society managed the final.
Over 250 boys enjoyed their day in a competitive, but superb atmosphere.
