Max Dominy has been appointed as the ECRU U20s & Senior mens Head coach.
Eastern Counties are pleased to announce the appointment of Max Dominy as the ECRU U20s & Senior mens Head coach for the 2023.24 season. Max is the head coach at Wymondham RFC, Assistant Director of Sport & Head of Rugby at a school in Cambridgeshire and is part of the Northampton Saints Academy set up.
Max said ‘Having started coaching Eastern Counties Senior representative sides in 2019, I am absolutely delighted to be taking on the role of Head Coach for the U20’s and Senior Men’s programmes.
Eastern Counties as a region is one that has given me a lot personally and professionally within rugby. To have the opportunity to repay that, and give others the same positive experiences I have had is one I could not turn down.
It is an exciting time for rugby in Eastern Counties. There is a clear growth of the Tri-Counties competitions at age grade and senior level, as well as reinstating the Eastern Counties U20’s programme. My objective is to lead a programme which players throughout the region aspire to be a part of. I intend to do this through establishing a greater awareness and support of players with high potential within Eastern Counties. The programmes will continue to support players and coaches in their development, giving them the exposure and opportunity to experience a performance pathway within representative rugby’
In a statement Chris Capps-Jenner the ECRU Chair of Playing said ‘I am delighted that Max has agreed to take on the senior men and U20s Head coach roles, Max has been a part of the Eastern Counties senior coaching team for the past three seasons and now takes on the responsibility of leading both programs. In addition we have also been fortunate to have Chris Bloom (Head Coach @ Ipswich YM RFC) joining us as a coach to support our senior men and U20s sides along with Fin Creighton (Shelford RFC) who is joining Max and Chris to work with our U20s program’
