Eastern Counties Rugby Union

Eastern Counties are pleased to announce Richard Garrett a new member of the EC Coaching Group.

Richard has recently relocated to Norfolk with his family. After a 2 year period as a full time Coach Developer for the RFU we are looking forward to his commitment and experience supporting EC RFU.
He is an RFU Level 3 coach and ILM Level 5 Coach Mentor with long and varied experience as a coach and mentor in both rugby and the workplace.

During 38 years’ service within the British Army Richard has represented the Army and combined services as both player and coach in the senior and youth environments. He has coached at representative level within the forces, also leading on a performance coach mentoring programme for aspiring senior coaches in the forces. He has been engaged with the RFU as a coach tutor and assessor for over 20 years and has supported coaches in both community and professional areas of the game. In addition he has taken the lead for mentoring coaches within the Saracens DPP/PDG in Kent, whilst delivering bespoke coach development for clubs around the South East. He currently mentors and assesses coaches undertaking the England Rugby Advanced Coaching Award.
