Eastern Counties RU Senior Men Wanderers XV

ECRU Announces the Wanderers Coaching team and selected players from Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire to take part in the final squad trials.

Eastern Counties RU would like to confirm and congratulate the new coaching team on their acceptance to be part of the newly reformed ‘Eastern Counties Wanderers’ team for the 2019 campaign.

Wanderers Manager Ian Whitby has done an incredible job in bringing the ECRU Wanderers programme to life.
Ian said “This is a very exciting and somewhat unique opportunity for a coaching team to be part of the revival of a representative team of players from 16 different Clubs selected from the 3 Counties, even our coaching team are from different Clubs and different Counties, we have an exciting group of players selected to compete for a place in the Wanderers Core Squad.”

Each coach will bring their own skills and experiences to the team under the direction of Lead Coach Nick Greenhall.

The full coaching team is now confirmed as:

Nick Greenhall - Lead Coach for the group and also working with the Backs
Tom Armes - Forwards coach, specifically working with the back Row, Lineout and exits.
Max Dominy - Backs coach, specifically working on phase attack including counter.
Neil Gaffan - Forwards coach, specifically working with front 5, scrums, phase defence and transition.

Congratulations to the 40 + players listed below have been invited to join the coaching team for squad trials at Thetford in April 2019, following two squad trials a Wanderers core squad will be selected to train at Cambridge ahead of the first game on May the 4th at Sale RFC (Greater Manchester) against Cheshire.
