Eastern Counties Rugby Union

Over recent times the Eastern Counties Senior men's rugby representative side has been made up from players of only a few clubs within the CB due to the levels which their clubs play.

Eastern Counties have decided to redress this by re-introducing the Eastern Counties Wanders XV representative side, which last played over 30 years ago, for players who play at clubs at level 6 and below.

The selection criteria for the Wanderers squad was initially based upon players put forward by the Team managers of the teams who played in this seasons Tri-Counties Championship, won by Norfolk. The squad was then supplemented by some players who played in a representative game against Holt to celebrate their centenary year and a small number put forward by the Eastern Counties U20's management team following their campaign this season.

The squad of 50 players represent 17 different clubs throughout Eastern Counties and the Coaching staff are also as diverse each being from 4 different clubs.

The Wanderers schedule of games mirrors that of senior squad playing each game before the seniors:

4th May Away against Cheshire Harvesters @ Sale RFC kick off 12noon
11th May Home against Lancashire Royals @ Cambridge RFC
18th May Home against Northumberland Centurions @ Bury St. Edmunds RFC
