Eastern Counties women travelled to Billingham Rugby Club to face Durham County women in a warm-up match in preparation for the Gill Burns Championship. With a travelling squad of almost 30, all got game time and what a solid performance was had by all. It was a great game, where all players worked hard and we played to the strategy we have been working on in training.

With 2 weeks to go before the first championship game against Oxfordshire, the coaching team have some difficult decisions to make when the final selection arrives. Head coach Aaron Swanborough said "All 23 squad positions are up for grab and the quality and skill of those involved this year has been the highest since he has been involved, it really is testament to the squad".

Eastern Counties women now continue with there preparation leading up to there next game and welcome England's Rachael Burford to the fold who will lead a session on Sunday 22nd April at Stowmarket Rugby Club, session starting at 13:00, finishing at 15:00.
