In our previous letter, we promised to keep you in touch with developments concerning the Return to Rugby cluster programmes.
We had intended to release fixtures by today (22nd December), with the first matches scheduled for 23rd January.
However, in an emergency meeting of the RFU Competitions Committee, members have decided that, in view of the uncertainty surrounding the progress of the mutated Covid-19 virus, and possible consequent changes to lockdown arrangements, it would be wise to postpone any further action until the New Year.
The RFU Competitions Committee will meet again on 4th January, after the next Government review of tiers on 30th December, and, as soon as we have further news, we will be in touch with you.
Pending any further announcements, you are free to play any games you wish to arrange, providing that all conditions of the Covid Regulations in force at the time are strictly adhered to for players, spectators, and officials.
In the meantime, on behalf of all of us on the Competitions Committee, I would like to wish you all a Happy and safe Christmas and New Year.
Best wishes,
John
