Eastern Counties Rugby Union

For the final trip of this year’s CB programme we travelled the shorter distance to Brentwood RFC to play Essex. All in all a great finish to the programme with two strong squads to go forward next season. Our thanks once again to Musk's for their great support.

UNDER 15’S
After the victory at Sussex still fresh in their minds, the U15s ran onto the field full of confidence and soon went ahead with a great try. Essex came right back at the Counties girls and soon levelled the score with a well worked try of their own, but it was short lived as the EC girls went ahead once again with a great team effort. Two more tries before the break made the half time score 5-20
Essex started the stronger in the 2nd half but just couldn’t break the counties defence and the EC forwards were really starting to enjoy their dominance and eventually went over the line with a great forwards try. Essex came back to make it 10-25, but it was too little, too late. Final score Essex U15s 10-25 Eastern Counties U15s.

UNDER 18’S
The U18s came into the game against Essex with something to prove to themselves after the defeat at the hands of Sussex and this told as EC put pressure on Essex and scored within 4 minutes with a great try. EC continued to have all the possession and after scoring two more tries were sitting comfortably 0-17 ahead.
Essex playing up the hill in the first half came back strong, scoring two tries of their own to bring the score back to 12-17, but the Counties girls upped the intensity to score a further two tries before Essex went over for their third. Half time score 19-27.
The second half started much like the first, with Counties having a lot of possession but Essex were the first to go over the line with a well worked try to get themselves back into it. 24-27. This knocked the wind out of the U18s from Counties and Essex ran over for another try which was converted to make the final score
