Ipswich Magpies 22 - 10 Returning Students/U18 Colts

14 student players from Ipswich RFC's recent yesteryear teamed up with 12 current Ipswich U18 Colts players to take on the Magpies (2ndXV) at Humber Doucy Lane Saturday 19th December.

The match was very close until 2 very late scores sealed it for the Magpies but the result was always going to be secondary to the occasion as Ipswich welcomed back players returning to the area from universities/colleges for the festive break. The students teamed up with the U18 colts, 9 of which were making their senior rugby débuts in a game backed financially by the Eastern Counties Rugby Union. Former Ipswich colts manager David Dodds refereed the competitive encounter in front a large and appreciative crowd.

Plans are already in place to repeat the exercise at Easter.
