Christmas is coming, and so are Warrior Camps!
Dear Club Contact
Christmas is coming, and so are Warrior Camps!
Now is the time to get your event registered for the January Warrior Camps – traditionally our most successful phase, grabbing the opportunity of people starting a New Year and wanting to get fit and try something new.
If you’re not sure whether to run a Warrior Camp, have a read of the information below. This video from Alban Barnes, Head of Girls Rugby at Fullerians RFC, details how they have maximised the impact of Warrior Camps for the benefit of their club. 28 women took part in the club’s first Warrior Camp in January 2017, and since then it has continued to grow.
What’s in it for your club?
Your Warrior Camp will receive:
• National promotion through England Rugby’s Inner Warrior website (www.englandrugby.com/innerwarrior) including sign up options for people to register for your camp
• Exposure within regional and national media as part of England Rugby’s nationwide communications campaign , including Facebook promotion
• Access to England Rugby digital assets to promote your Warrior Camp via club poster/flyer/social media banner/images/GIFs.
There will also be a number of opportunities within each area for clubs to receive additional resources and giveaways.
Things to consider if you are deciding whether to run a Warrior Camp:
• What is the best date within the Warrior Camp window for you to run your camp?
• Who can be on your event team to ensure it’s a successful event?
• Who else within the club do you need to work with? (Committee? Sponsors? Groundsman? Catering?)
• Where & how are you going to target your event promotion? (Gyms, shopping centres, ParkRun events, school mums, M&J section mums / Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, printed flyers)
• Why don’t you have a ‘Tag-A-Friend’ approach, where each existing member is encouraged to bring a friend/colleague with them
• When new people join your club as a result of the Warrior Camp, do you have enough capacity to cater for their development & what will their next training/playing opportunity be?
How to register
• Agree date and time with the relevant people within your club, including your local Rugby Development Officer
• Simply click HERE to register your event. This will take less than 5mins if you know the date and time of your event
• Register by Monday 17th December. You will be informed before the Christmas break if your Warrior Camp has been confirmed as part of our promotional campaign.
What happens next?
• Start planning how you are going to run and promote your Warrior Camp, ensuring the whole club buys into this. After all, this could result in more members!
• Think about what will encourage local non-rugby women / girls to come down and have a go. How and where are you going to promote your event?
• Once your event has been accepted as a Warrior Camp, shout about it on social media using our brand assets to ensure as many people across your local community are aware that it is happening.
Best wishes
Team Inner Warrior
