Another step forward
Stage D has now been reached on the Return to Community Rugby Roadmap and as we know a limited amount of interaction is now allowed in our cautious approach towards regaining our game. As a result the Natwest Rugby Force Weekend is going ahead on the 5th and 6th of September when 35 of our Clubs will be participating taking steps to improve their facilities.
NatWest is investing £17.5k in the Eastern Counties to develop this significant initiative working with Clubs that "have the energy to improve". We know for example that the Hadleigh Club is proposing to involve their volunteers in a clubhouse revamp, Sawston and Norwich are looking to "spruce up" their facilities, Haverhill and District intend to have a painting weekend and Newmarket will be involved with "operation spring clean".
These are only a few of the schemes that are in hand. Our President, John Winders, is delighted that Eastern Counties Clubs are looking to the future with anticipation. He says "we are very appreciative of the support given by NatWest as we look to reboot after the pandemic. This initiative is promoting vibrant, visible and viable Rugby Clubs and this must be to the benefit the community game in these difficult times".
