The finish of a well supported competition
Congratulations to the Winners of this years competition and thank you to all those clubs that took part.
This year has seen the strongest and closest Colts competition since I have been involved in the last 15 years; congratulations to Shelford on a very fine victory.
Any one of probably 7 sides could have won. No less than 22 teams from 21 clubs (a record) entered the Cup & Plate, and 58 out of 61 scheduled games were completed.
These are incredible statistics in this Covid affected year, where nationally, there has been a huge reduction in playing, with many cancelled games. This must auger well for senior rugby in the region in the future.
My thanks to Wilf Lambert for his patience, and his continuing and assiduous administration of these competitions.
