Significant opportunity to get involved in management of Eastern Counties Rugby
After seven years, Pamela Clarke has submitted her resignation as Honorary Treasurer of Eastern Counties. She is planning to stand down at the end of this calendar year having completed the 2018-19 accounts and managed a handover to her successor. Accordingly, Eastern Counties has a vacancy for a new Honorary Treasurer. The key features of the role are:
The ideal candidate will be experienced in financial management and strategy – an accountancy qualification is preferred but not essential if you can demonstrate competence in these matters; they will have a clear understanding of the particular demands of working in a volunteer-led organisation; they will be level-headed, good humoured and understand that the funds that Eastern Counties holds are to be deployed for the benefit of rugby in the area. Candidates need not be from a background in rugby, but sympathy for the values of our great game is a necessary qualification for success in the role.
If you are interested in taking on this challenge, you will need to be prepared to devote significant but not disproportionate time to the role, then please send an email by 25 November 2019 to loverugby@ecrurugby.com with a brief CV and an explanation of how you feel you could contribute in the role. A role description for the Honorary Treasurer and our financial protocols (which need to be updated) are at the links below.
