36 teams originally entered from 26 clubs
will take place on Sunday 5th March.
36 teams originally entered from 26 clubs– a fantastic achievement.
As previously indicated there will be 6 Festivals; at 5 different venues around Eastern Counties.
We thank Stowmarket, Woodbridge, Shelford, Diss & Crusaders for agreeing to host.
All festivals will start at 1.30 – in order to allow travelling time, and for each club to clear their “normal” morning youth & mini activities.
Following on from the earlier rounds, each county has submitted a “batting order”, based on the results in the first 2 rounds, and each club / team has been allocated to a final tired festival.
The hope is that these different tiers will enable each club / team to play at a competitive standard at its own level – and each club will play 4 fifteen minute one way games.
There will be no individual festival winners – other than the game of rugby itself.
Because of the much larger number of teams from Suffolk, the allocation in the middle tiers has not been based on 2 : 2 : 2, in order to facilitate this.
We trust that all clubs / teams that originally entered will participate in this final round, whatever the number of players that they can raise on the day; so that the sanctity of the competition can be preserved.
Please remember that “any number can play”, and if a team is short, opponents are asked to lend players / reduce numbers – so that all games are played with the same number of players.
And if the 5th and 6th tiered festivals are played at, say, 11 a side, so be it.
We look forward to a fantastic day of rugby
