Eastern Counties Rugby Union

Unfortunately, the pitches at Ely were declared unfit on Saturday morning.

However, after frantic efforts during the day, we were able to run 2 separate events, with Ely, Newmarket, Wisbech, Cambridge, L & Y and North Walsham at Newmarket
And Hadleigh, Woodbridge, Colchester and Harwich at Woodbridge.

The object of the events was not to produce a winner, but to allow the U16 players a relaxed day of rugby prior to their exams.
At both events, clubs borrowed and lent players, mixing and matching to enable games.
150 + boys enjoyed their day – rugby was the winner.
