Thurston players raise £20,000.00
It is an acknowledged tradition in rugby to recognise volunteers who have made a significant contribution to our community game.
This principle was recently followed at the Thurston Club when Ollie Paxman was presented with a certificate recording his outstanding service to his Club when during the pandemic he initiated the Rangers Rainbow Charity Relay Run. This involved 52 players running 180 miles across Suffolk in 24 hours resulting in almost £20,000 being raised for the West Suffolk WiSH Charity.
It is quite clear that this event massively benefited the image of the Club in the local community and gave a great boost to Club spirit. This was an inspirational achievement on the part of Ollie. President, John Winders, says "it is very appropriate that this outstanding service should be recognised"
