13 players from Eastern Counties clubs traveled to the Netherlands to represent England at the recent European Junior Touch Rugby Championships. Held at the National Centre for Sporting Excellence, players were able to showcase their skills against Wales, Ireland, Scotland, Guernsey, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the Middle East in the U18 boys, U18 girls, U18 mixed, and U15 mixed categories.
Congratulations to Freya Burt (Newmarket RFC), Fin Creighton (Cambridge RFC), Megan Green (Bury RFC), Henry Hackett (Cambridge RFC), Logan MacDonald (Bury RFC), Matthew Maynard (Cambridge RFC), Oliver Maynard (Cambridge RFC), Louis MacManus (Cambridge RFC), Hannah Murphy (Newmarket RFC), Lucy Norburn (Bury RFC), William Tyrell (Cambridge RFC) and Tom Whitehead (Cambridge RFC).
All these players, and more Eastern Counties players, will be taking part in the National Touch Rugby Championships over this bank holiday weekend at the St Ivo Sports Centre in St Ives in a bid for selection to the junior and senior England sides for next years junior European tournament in Dublin and the senior Home Nations series.
