When recruiting volunteers you need to remember that volunteering is a choice and that people volunteer for many different reasons. Use some of rugby`s Core values, Enjoyment, Teamwork, Respect, these are what Volunteers will want. Volunteers need to enjoy what they do and it shouldn't turn into a 'job'.
How can role descriptions help recruit volunteers?
When recruiting volunteers you need to be very clear about the role they are taking on.
The role description shouldn't be very long and shouldn't read like a JOB description, Remember - people's time is limited, even those that are retired!
Below is a link to the various roles within a club as outlined by the RFU. These are a good starting point but think....do these roles fit what you need as a club? If the answer is no then feel free to amend and change them to suit your club!
